10,000 Islands Report

Capt. Quicks: Bait fish are starting to show up. Redfish and trout have been big and plentiful. When the wind is below 15 mph - fish turn on.

Master Bait & Tackle:
Fishing has been extremely good lately according to Obie at Master Bait & Tackle. Spanish mackeral have arrived a couple of times offshore and some inside San Carlos Pass have been reported. Snook activity has picked up on jigs and topwater plugs in flats along with trout and redfish. Fifteen to twenty miles offshore you can find king mackeral. There have been many reports of 38" cobia in the backwater in Estero Bay. Trout and some tarpon are still being caught in the backwater and mouths of the rivers. Look for tarpon offshore in the next 2 - 3 weeks.

Cape Coral Report

Cape Bait and Tackle: Bob, the expert fisherman in the Cape Coral area, says that if you want some fun shark action (as in hammerheads) use cut mullet in the Sanibel Causeway. Anytime of day will work. Tarpon are hitting on cut bait and frozen shad in San Carlos Bay. Good snook fishing off the Cape Coral Yacht Club basin. Try under the bridges at night with jigs for snook action. If you care to go offshore, trolling large plugs will get you great king fish catches.

Chiquita Bait & Tackle:If you have any problems with your fishing gear, stop by and have Steve take a look. He can do wonders on some of your older equipment. Chiquita Bait and Tackle is also a "Star Rod" dealer. For fishing tips, Carol can help you out, know where to go, what times are best, and the bait of choice. Snapper and tarpon action is good in the deep holes. Try sardines and cigar minnows.

Sunrise Bait and Tackle: Don't forget, Captain Bob will be moving his shop to the Amtel Flea Market on the corner of Colonial and Metro. Go by and say hello and buy some bait.
