Master Bait & Tackle: Area anglers are tearing up the fish. tarpon are being caught offshore and in the backwaters. Cobia action is great with many large catches coming in. Capt. Lindy has had steady trips offshore bringing in grouper, snapper, barracuda, cobia, and late season kings. Capt. Outdoor Resort - Chokoloskee: Kenny says there is plenty of room with most of the tourists gone back up north. The fishin' couldn't be better. Tarpon, Tarpon, Tarpon!!! Snook are biting daily on live bait. Trout and reds are hitting jigs tipped with shrimp and spoons. Seems to be some of the best fishin' of the year.

Cape Coral Report

Cape Tool & Tackle: Wayne tells me the fishin' has been smokin' with tarpon action as the hot topic. The store has a wide variety of dicount tackle and marine supplies as well as any tool you can think of. Cape Tool & Tackle also has a variety of boats for sale from canoes to custom flats boats.

Chiquita Bait & Tackle: Steve reports the fishin' has been incredible. Tarpon are hitting live pinfish, threadfins, ladyfish, and crabs daily. Snook fishin' has been great with reports up to 30 lb'ers being caught. Stop by and talk to Steve and Carol for all your fishin' tips.

K.C.'s Riverstop: "The only fishing pier in Cape Coral." Betty and Carmine, owners of K.C.'s Riverstop, report nice catches of snook on live bait. Some cobia have been hitting Bomber lures. Snapper action has been steady along with a few sharks taken at night. K.C.'s is located at the foot of the pier and there is no fishing license required in order to enjoy a great day or night of fishing. George in the bait shop has all the updated fishin' info. K.C.'s offers a fuel dock along with beer and wine. They also serve breakfast, luch, and dinner with a beautiful outside deck overlooking the river. Entertainment is offered on the deck on weekends.

Scottie's North Bay Marina: Tarpon are the talk of the month with big fish travelling the Caloosahatchee River as far up as the freshwater locks. Big drum are still being taken on live crabs. Redfish and some snook are still biting at the railroad tresses. Some sheepshead, whiting, and trout are reported biting at the river markers.

Sunrise Bait & Tackle: Heidi, the daughter of owner Robert Knirsch, says the snook action has been better than ever. These fish have been slammin' greenbacks and ladyfish. The redfish action has stayed hot as well, biting on shrimp and shrimp-tipped jigs. The tarpon fishing has been outstanding as well. Sunrise Bait & Tackle carries live bait and a full array of fishing equipment to fulfill anyone's needs, along with specializing in custom rod and reels.


Ft. Myers Report

Sanibel Causeway Bait & Tackle: Located just before the toll booth on the way to Sanibel, this place has a wide variety of fishing tackle and live bait. If you plan to launch your boat from the Punta Rassa boat ramp or fish the Sanibel Causeway, this is a must stop.

Sanibel Harbour Marina: This marina has a family atmosphere with the Johnson family owning this wonderful place for over 20 years. Lori and family have all the up to the minute fishing information and can handle any of your boating or marine needs. Tarpon seem to be the talk of the town hitting mostly live bait. Snook, reds, and trout action still seem to be very good. Sanibel Harbour Marina provides full service from live bait and tackle to snack shop to fuel pumps and dry storage.

Matlacha Report

Hippies Bait & Tackle: This is the first live bait store on the way to Matlacha on Pine Island Road. John Marek tells me just about the same story as every one else. FISH! FISH! FISH! Tarpon has been outrageous along with snook, reds, and some gator trout.
