As with any type of fishing southwest Florida is seasonal.
Spring is the prime time for fishing the flats. When things start to
warm up redfish and large trout come up on the flats in droves for one
reason. To feast! As southwest Florida approaches summer we find more
snook and the occasional tarpon. In summer all species are available but
the Silver King takes most of our attention along with big snook that roam
the beach. The fall mullet run signals another feeding frenzy on the flats
for all species. Winter means searching deeper water and superb or great
shallow water sight fishing on selected days.
